EHS Manager

Position Summary:
The EHS Manager will oversee site and corporate EHS systems with a strong emphasis on hazardous chemicals, combustible and explosive materials, process safety, occupational safety, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental compliance. This individual will partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, facilities, HR, and leadership teams to reduce risk, prevent incidents, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement across all locations.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide EHS policies, procedures, standards, and programs
- Develop and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs
- Manage programs related to OSHA, EPA, DOT, fire code, hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, chemical reporting, and related requirements.
- Oversee chemical safety, SDS management, labeling, storage compatibility, secondary containment, spill prevention, and hazardous waste practices.
- Develop and deliver EHS training for employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors.
- Support crisis response for site emergencies involving chemical releases, fires, or explosive hazards.
- Lead hazard analyses, job safety analyses, risk assessments, and safe work permitting processes.
- Establish EHS goals, KPIs, and leading/lagging metrics; monitor performance and drive corrective actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5–10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or chemical environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA requirements and practical application in manufacturing setting
- Experience with Process Safety Management and process hazard analysis methodologies.
- Familiarity with chemical handling and general safety practices
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset
- Experience in food, beverage or personal care a plus
- Occasional off-hours support as needed
- Travel up to 20%
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours.
- Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs.
